::Psalms and Proverbs::

Last night my roommate and I started a devotion that I hope to continue throughout the entire summer. See my roommate is my best friend and I wanted to continue growing our connection by growing closer to God. So we, actually I think I kind of suggested it (she didn't seem to mind), decided to go through two psalms and one proverbs each night we go to be at the same time and then meditate and discuss it. Last night while reading proverbs I realized how foolish I truly am. I wish I was Solomon and wise but often I feel like a simplistic Israelite who is never truly content in what God has given me. I hope to gain wisdom by fully appreciating what God has for my life and allowing the people He has planted around me to help me grow. Let this be my prayer.

::Funny Yellow Fellow:2::

So on one of our few sunny days this spring, My roomate and I wanted to go swinging in a park. So we had a wonderful afternoon of playing at a park on childrens recreational equipment. Well one of us (heather) had the bright idea to get into one of the fun pieces of equipment. And so she got stuck. After a few minutes of pulling, pushing and tugging, she was free to frolick on the other fun attractions. But this time inspired the next installment of funny yellow fellow.

::The Ground Trembles::

Yesterday at 4:30 am I got to experience one of natures most fantastic phenomenons, an earthquake, and then at 10:14 am I felt the aftershock. (By the way both times I thought I was crazy until I heard the news, the story itself is rather funny.) This is such a neat experience but also takes me to my knees.

The power of God places me on my hands and feet crying out his holiness. What an awesome and powerful God we have.

I don't know how to take this all in, but I do know that I am not worthy to serve God, but he loves me and wants me to follow him anyways. And I will gladly do that.

::Calling All Religion Majors (and minors too)::

Okay, today in my class we had a guest speaker and he first showed us this hilarious clip from a blog at Southern Seminary. For all those religion major and minors, you will know this book as the one that makes a great door prop. This almost 1300 page book otherwise known as Systematic Theology, written by the great Wayne Grudem. This book makes most people cringe, but today I found out this book inspired a very funny dance. All those who have dreaded this book need to see this song and dance about the one and only Wayne Grudem.

(the picture of this book does not show how frightening it really is)

Funny Yellow Fellow: #1

I saw a blog where they chose a color and when ever they saw that color they took a picture of it to share to the world. Well, world here you go. The beginning of the wonderful journey of the color yellow. Therefor you get to see a picture of my lamp. If you have ever been in my room you would see that I have like four lamps in one room. Why you ask? I hate fluorescent lighting. So here you go the first instalment of Funny Yellow Fellow. Enjoy!

::Apple for the teacher::

Today was it! My first experience as a teacher. I have been observing a middle school math class for about 12 weeks now and today I taught my first lesson. Now I taught on parallel and perpendicular lines, which I haven't done in a long time. So after 3 hours of putting a lesson together I thought I was ready. Well at 9:30 am I walked into 25 students ready to devour me. Okay this is an exaggeration. I learned a lot from this experience, like how much I love the feeling of seeing students understand a concept (the ahhaa theory). I am so glad it is over with and can't wait to see where God places me for my next observation. To God be the glory.

::More than just a show: The Office::

The university I attend, along with other places I'm sure, has fallen under the spell of what I like to call "officeitis". Now, I have been resisting this urge to try to understand this epidemic but I decided tonight to take the plunge. And what I understood is that this show is just a half an hour show of awkward moments. Now I say this knowing I can't judge a show with just one viewing. So I think I will continue to observe the show and those it has already infected. Who knows, perhaps with more contact with this fatal disease, I too, will show the symptoms (which include saying random quotes from the show, dressing like the characters on Halloween, and buying sticky notes with the characters face on them). I will try to keep an open mind and update my opinions of the show on this trusty blog.

P.S. I wonder if there is cure.

::The Latte Boy: Taylor::

Last night I was on duty and saw on a friends wall her rendition of "Taylor the latte boy". First of all this is uber funny. She is a riot and it fit her personality completely. But then I wanted to get to the bottom of this song. Who really sings it? I found out Kriten Chenoweth sings this. And she is overly animated also. So if you need some java and joy listen up!

::Crepes and Gardens::

Oh my 'lanta!!! Today was wonderful. A couple co-workers and I all went out and about to enjoy ourselves....thanks liz and marie. We started out at the City Coffee House and Creperies and then went to the Missouri Botanical Garden. First of all the Crepes were a-stinkin-mazing. I had an egg Havarti cheese and ham crepe that I could not finish because I was so full. I have never tried a crepe before so that was a new and magnificent experience. Then, we went to the botanical gardens. The weather was beautiful and we could not have picked a better day. We went around taking pictures and enjoying the sights. I want to share just some of the pics I got today. Hopefully there will be more to come...I hope you enjoy.

The time has come the walrus said....

Spring is here, although the weather is insistent upon disagreeing, and that means school is almost out. This is something that I'm very grateful about. Now don't get me wrong, I love to learn, but the act of reading for fun and sunbathing and half day Fridays makes my heart soar. Not to mention the excess of parking spaces. MMMMM...summer. What more could a person truly ask for. Yes I have to look for a second job now but maybe just maybe I could have a fun easy job. That would solely pay for the fun things in life like trips movies and clothes. Now don't peg me as superficial, although I am known to have my moments, it is just during the summer I get to jump into the luxuries I normally do not get. And so my friends I am ready for darker skin, lighter hair and a whole bunch of fun.

Mr. Sun, Sun Mr. Golden sun....please shine down on me.....
